Alabama junior defensive lineman Jarran Reed was arrested and charged early Sunday with driving under the influence according to the Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s office. The Goldsboro, N.C. native was later released on $1,000 secured bond. Reed, a highly-touted JUCO transfer, arrived at Alabama in January and immediately impressed coaches, earning first-team snaps on Kirby Smart’s defense.

Reed’s the second Crimson Tide player to run into trouble with the law recently, joining running back Kenyan Drake who was arrested over Fourth of July weekend for ‘obstructing government operations’ at a crime scene. Alabama linebacker Dillon Lee was charged with a DUI in April.

Alabama coach Nick Saban has not commented on Reed’s arrest. Reed reportedly had a blood alcohol content of 0.13 after he was stopped in his 2011 Dodge Charger according to AL.com. The legal limit in Alabama is 0.08.
