Alabama added to its 2022 class on Monday with a commitment from a strong-side defensive end out of Lafayette, Louisiana (Acadiana).

Walter Bob, a 6-foot-4 and 245-pounder, committed to the Crimson Tide. It is Alabama’s second commitment for the 2022 class. Robert Woodyard, an inside linebacker out of Mobile Alabama, committed to Alabama in June.

Bob is not yet rated by 247Sports.

“My hard work got me to this point and I’m proud to say I will be committing to the University of Alabama! Roll Tide!,” he shared on social media.

He’s recruited by Pete Golding and Freddie Roach from the Alabama staff.

“I had a talk with my head coach and he was like Alabama wants to offer you and at first I didn’t believe it,” Bob told Alabama OnLine. “So I went and had a talk with Coach Pete Golding. He said you’re great player, you ball out, I like the way you play with great intensity. And from there it went on. He said I’m glad to have you a part of the team. He said you’re a great team player and a tremendous athlete. It’s crazy.”

Bob is ready to join the program, no matter how the defense is aligned.

“I love their culture and their work ethic,” he said. “Their defense is amazing. The 4-3 and the 3-4, I love it all.”
