Alabama lands Utah DB Cameron Calhoun via transfer portal

Alabama has picked up a transfer defensive back coming off a strong season at Utah.
Cameron Calhoun will continue his college football career with the Crimson Tide. Alabama announced Calhoun as a UA signee.
Entering Year 3 of his college football career in 2025, Calhoun will play for his third program.
Out of Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods High School, Calhoun was a blue-chip recruit. On the 247Sports Composite, he was rated 4-stars, the No. 12 player in the state of Ohio, No. 41 cornerback and No. 396 player overall nationally. He initially committed to Cincinnati, but a late offer from Michigan had him change his mind and sign with the Wolverines.
Calhoun played in just 2 games during his true freshman season at U-M. He took a redshirt for the season and decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal.
Calhoun decided on Utah for his redshirt freshman season. He impressed in his season with the Utes. Though he only made 1 start, Calhoun was one of Utah’s top defenders in 2024. In 11 games, he posted 21 tackles with 1 TFL and led the team with 9 pass breakups, adding 1 interception.
Calhoun has 3 remaining seasons of college football eligibility.
