Alabama will be without its top cornerback during the College Football Playoff as Josh Jobe underwent surgery this week to repair a foot injury and will miss the rest of the season, sources told Matt Zenitz of On3.

Jobe returned to Alabama after he passed on the NFL Draft last year. This season, he recorded 38 total tackles, including one for loss, with 4 pass breakups and 2 interceptions.

Jobe earlier this season battled a turf toe injury that limited his practice time about a month ago. Though he still started 11 of 12 games, and also replaced the injured Jalyn-Armour Davis in the second half against LSU. He then started Alabama’s next 4 games.

He made 7 tackles during Saturday’s SEC Championship Game win over Georgia.
