Alabama quarterback Tyler Buchner had a short stay in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

The former Notre Dame QB transferred to Alabama last offseason and on Monday announced that he will be entering the portal as a lacrosse athlete.

According to the below post from Alabama beat writer Nick Kelly, Buchner is entering the portal as a lacrosse player and will be on lacrosse scholarship, which means he can play (lacrosse) immediately despite transferring twice.

Buchner was committed to Michigan to play lacrosse in 8th grade, 2017.

It would seem, then, that Buchner’s time as a football player is over. The former Fighting Irish QB threw just 19 passes at Alabama, making the start against USF before finishing 5-for-14 with just 34 yards.

He threw for 948 yards with 6 touchdowns and 8 interceptions across 2 seasons at Notre Dame.
