Alabama RB Trey Sanders speaks out on social media rumors: 'Please kill this narrative'
Trey Sanders’ college football career has not gone as planned, but that doesn’t mean he’s giving up on playing for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
On Wednesday, Sanders issued a strong statement on social media.
“Please kill this narrative. I’m rehabbing and looking forward to next season #RollTide” Sanders tweeted.
Sanders did not explain what “narrative” he was referring to, but fans and media members had a good idea.
Josh Newberg of Florida State 247Sports affiliate Noles247 indicates that Sanders was responding to transfers rumors circulating among FSU’s Twitter community.

Sanders missed the 2019 season, his first year on campus, after suffering an injury in fall camp. This year, as a redshirt freshman, he appeared in four games before Alabama’s bye week. During the bye week, Sanders went home to the Florida panhandle and was involved in a car accident, suffering injuries that have kept him out of action since Oct. 31. He logged 30 carries for 134 yards in four games.
Sanders was a 5-star recruit in the class of 2019 out of the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.
