Poaching from an SEC West rival? Media, fans speculate Alabama could target new OC from division foe
By Adam Spencer
Published:
Reports are circulating that Alabama OC Steve Sarkisian is expected to take over the Texas head coaching job after the Longhorns fired Tom Herman on Saturday.
Those reports have yet to be confirmed, so there’s still a chance Sarkisian stays in Tuscaloosa, but media and fans have already begun to speculate about a potential replacement for Sark.
One of the biggest names in the rumors is the current offensive coordinator for an SEC West rival. As you can see below, there is speculation that Ole Miss OC Jeff Lebby would be a good hire at Alabama:
One possible name to watch for Alabama with Steve Sarkisian reportedly heading to Texas? Ole Miss OC Jeff Lebby, per @BudElliott3.https://t.co/1abH6JvV5q pic.twitter.com/OBTTrJfaoS

Wonder if Alabama would give Ole Miss coordinator Jeff Lebby a look to replace Steve Sarkisian. Ole Miss put up a ton of points on Alabama this year.

A name to keep in mind for the Alabama OC opening? Jeff Lebby.
Saban poaching Kiffin's OC would make sense, and given the likely raise and offensive freedom to truly run his own offense, Lebby could do a whole lot worse.

Again, nothing is finalized regarding Sark at the moment. Stay tuned, because this Texas search is one that could cause massive ripples across the college football landscape.
