Butch Jones is taking advantage of the connections he’s made while being a special assistant to Nick Saban at Alabama.

Jones is hiring Andy Kwon away from Alabama, according to The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman.

“The 26-year-old Kwon, a former first-team All-Sun Belt O-lineman, has been with the Crimson Tide as a graduate assistant for three years,” Feldman shared on Twitter on Sunday.

Kwon is set to become Arkansas State’s new tight ends coach, as he’s been with Alabama as an offensive graduate assistant for the last 3 years.

The former Georgia Southern offensive lineman was an all-Sun Belt performer during his career. Kwon was born in Seoul, South Korea, and he didn’t start playing football until his sophomore year of high school.

During his introductory press conference, Jones broke down when thanking Nick and Terry Saban and the Alabama family.
