Alabama RB Brian Robinson Jr. is expected to be the starting running back for the Crimson Tide this season, and brings a different style from last year’s leading rusher, Najee Harris.

“I have my own style of how I run the ball,” he told the media on Monday, per Roger Hoover. “I like to break tackles and make people miss. I’m not really a big hurdle guy. I do whatever I can to make plays, break tackles, and make people miss.”

Last season, Robinson had 483 yards and six touchdowns on 91 carries with six receptions for 26 yards, and also returned three kickoffs for 56 yards.

Robinson is expected to start the season at the top of the depth chart, however, there are a slew of other backs ready to step in. They include Roydell Williams, Jase McClellan, Trey Sanders, Camar Wheaton, Jonathan Bennett.

Robinson, who is on the national watchlist for the Maxwell player of the year, will compete for carries with Williams, a sophomore, who received positive reviews this past spring, and Sanders, who is recovering from a car wreck injury. Wheaton, a 5-star freshman, could also contribute.

Alabama opens the season at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 4 against Miami in Atlanta.
