Colin Cowherd favored Michigan to win the national championship in a rough, old-school styled football game.

He revealed on the latest edition of The Colin Cowherd Podcast that Michigan will try to control the clock against Washington. The Wolverines will need to be able to match the Huskies’ energy.

“The line movement is telling me that the wise guys are on Michigan. I do like Michigan ball controlling Washington here. I don’t think any college team has 3 good corners, so I think Washington’s gonna be able to score,” said Cowherd. “Especially if they’re scoring late and Michigan’s protecting a 10-point lead, Washington’s really gonna move the ball down the field. Michigan has to be an aggressive team. You can’t take your foot off the gas with Washington’s coach, their quarterback.”

At the end of the day, Cowherd is backing Jim Harbaugh in the contest. Cowherd warned fans not to expect a game like the Sugar Bowl was with Texas and Washington trading scores back and forth.

“I like Michigan sort of 30-26. I think the line’s appropriate, but I do like Michigan. It will not be Texas-Washington. It won’t look like that. It’ll be much more physical, between the 20s, field goals.”

Fans can see if Cowherd’s prediction will come true at 7:30 p.m. ET on ESPN.
