This just in: Crimson Tide wide receivers are incredibly fast.

Alabama recently conducted its spring testing for football players, and AL.com got its hands on some of the results.

There are plenty of noteworthy performances in the results, but the numbers that jump off the page are the wide receiver 40-yard dash times.

  • Robert Foster — 4.34
  • Calvin Ridley — 4.35
  • ArDarius Stewart — 4.43

It is worth noting that team-timed 40-yard dash times are notoriously a little faster than what guys typically run on an electronically timed run, such as at the NFL Combine. So while these numbers are impressive no matter how they were timed, these numbers may not be as low in different circumstances.

Some other results from the spring testing:

  • RB Bo Scarbrough squatted 515 pounds and registered a 10-foot broad jump. He ran a 4.60 40-yard dash.
  • QB Cooper Bateman ran a 4.59 40-yard dash. That’s very fast for a quarterback.
  • OL Jonah Williams, who is a five-star freshman, benched 455 pounds. It was reported to be one of the top numbers on the team.
  • DT Daron Payne benched 500 pounds and squatted 600 pounds, and also ran a 4.93 40-yard dash. That might be the best overall display of strength while maintaining speed.
  • LB Reuben Foster ranked among the team’s best with a 365-pound power cling and a 35-inch vertical jump, among other strong performances.
