To the surprise of no one, Alabama is the No. 1 team in the first College Football Playoff rankings of 2018.

However, Clemson is also undefeated and the No. 2 team in the country. Still, coach Dabo Swinney doesn’t think the Tigers are in the same class as the Crimson Tide.

That led to a funny exchange between Swinney and ESPN host Rece Davis on the rankings show, when Swinney tried to say that Clemson was way behind Alabama:

“It’s kind of Alabama and then the ‘rest of y’all,'” Swinney said. “We’re just happy to be on the ROY bus and still have a chance.”

“You are not on the ‘Rest of Y’all’ bus,” Davis laughed, giving Clemson credit for what it has done so far.

“Alabama’s on buses one, two and three and then we’re with the ‘Rest of Y’all,'” Swinney replied.

Considering what Clemson has done in the past few seasons under Swinney, Davis definitely has a point.

However, it’s also clear that the Tide are going to be the clear No. 1 team this year until someone proves otherwise.
