EA Sports on Thursday dropped an official trailer for the release of its 2025 college football video game, a long-awaited development for fans.

In its updated Twitter bio, EA Sports also confirmed that the game is set to come out in the summer, with a full reveal of the game set for May. The official release date has not been announced.

“Little update for our fans from the Big House to the Bayou,” a man representing EA Sports said from the Rose Bowl. “From Carolina to California. Yeah, it’s about college football. We know you love it. Us too. Rivalries, comebacks, the traditions and superstitions built by generations.

EA Sports last released a college football game in 2013, “NCAA Football ‘14” with Michigan’s Denard Robinson on the cover. But NIL lawsuits emerged, and the NCAA said at the time that it wouldn’t allow for paying players, and to prevent further litigation, EA Sports ended the game.

But about 3 years ago, details about a return came out, and compensation for players was discussed. College football fans have salivated for the return ever since.

There was a notable backlash from fans during the national championship last month after a rumored reveal during the game did not happen.
