Former Alabama offensive tackle Elijah Pritchett was a key piece up front for the Crimson Tide this season, starting all 13 games in the first season of the Kalen DeBoer era. Now, he’s on a move to the Big Ten.

According to Hayes Fawcett with On3 Sports, Pritchett is committing to Nebraska football and head coach Matt Rhule. The Huskers are trying to load up for a Year 3 breakthrough as is the norm in Rhule’s previous head coaching stops after 7 wins and a bowl game victory in 2024.

Pritchett’s original decision to enter the transfer portal was not seen as an altogether surprising one in Alabama football news. However, it did leave the Crimson Tide without a starter and a former 5-star recruit from the 2022 recruiting class.

Listed at 6-foot-6 and 327 pounds, Pritchett received a 4-star transfer rating per 247 Sports and was ranked the 42nd available player in the portal. Pritchett is the 2nd offensive lineman to leave Tuscaloosa this offseason, but the Crimson Tide have found a way to add some key pieces in Kam Dewberry (Texas A&M) and Arkel Anugwom (Ball State).

Pritchett is the first offensive line transfer for the Huskers so far this offseason, but the team has added some other key pieces. On offense, Nebraska specifically retained starting RB Emmett Johnson while adding some key receivers in the form of Dane Key (Kentucky), Nyziah Hunter (Cal) and Hardley Gilmore IV (Kentucky).
