Former Alabama TE O.J. Howard shows off his hands with incredible catch at Tampa Bay-Houston ALDS Game 4
Former Alabama TE O.J. Howard appears to be enjoying life in the Sunshine State.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneer made it out to St. Petersburg on Tuesday night to take in ALDS Game 4 between the Houston Astros and the Tampa Bay Rays. In the eighth inning, Howard got a chance to show off his hands as a foul bowl was hit in the right-field area where he happened to be standing. Howard made a highlight snag, catching it barehanded. The Fox Sports 1 announcers didn’t recognize him, but plenty of Twitter users did, including Bucs writer Trevor Sikkema.
“That gentleman just barehanded the ball.”

This was one of those social media moments where everyone seemingly had the same joke:
Can’t wait to see all the tweets about OJ Howard’s first catch of the year. #Buccaneers #RaysUp

In 2019, Howard has been targeted just 14 times, resulting in 11 catches for 141 yards. Plenty of Tampa Bay fans and Howard fantasy owners are hoping his catch reminds Bucs coach Bruce Arians and QB Jameis Winston that Howard has good hands. Luckily, Howard’s hand appears to be fine. He’s certainly happy that the Rays went on to win and force a Game 5.
