Mac Jones and the New England Patriots are on a roll in the 2021 NFL season. On Thursday, they crushed the Atlanta Falcons 25-0 to run their win streak up to 5 games ahead of a big showdown with the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

Suddenly the Patriots have a half-game lead in the AFC East, and after seeing their stranglehold on the division loosened at the expense of the Buffalo Bills last year, they have been helped by the play of Jones in his rookie season.

And Jones’ performance has received rave reviews, with CBS Sports commentator Boomer Esiason among those that are high on the former Alabama great.

“He’s making it look easy, but I also felt when the season started that he had the best chance of all the rookies to have the biggest impact because he was in the best system,” Esiason said on “NFL Monday QB” on Monday. “This kid has been taught ‘Patriot critical theory’ and he is programmed perfectly by (Patriots offensive coordinator) Josh McDaniels.

“It has been a thing of beauty to watch, and undoubtedly (Jones) will be the Offensive (Rookie) of the Year in the NFL.”
