FOX announces kickoff time for Alabama-Texas showdown; fans angry on Twitter
FOX released a number of kickoff times and college football game schedules on Thursday, but there was one that caught everyone’s eye.
That would be the major Week 2 showdown between Alabama and Texas in Austin, which will be part of FOX’s Big Noon Kickoff festivities.
Of course, that means the game will kick off at 11 a.m. local time in Austin, which was confirmed on Thursday:

This is exactly what fans wanted to avoid. A group of Texas fans even tried to start a petition to get FOX to make the game a night kickoff. It was unsuccessful, it appears.
That led to plenty of ire from fans of both teams on social media, as you can see below:
