Jahmyr Gibbs was selected at No. 12 overall by the Detroit Lions and spoke with WXYZ Detroit’s Brad Galli about the potential of the offense in 2023.  Gibbs talked about how he can improve the offense even further.

Gibbs attended Alabama for one season after transferring over from Georgia Tech. Gibbs recorded 1,370 scrimmage yards and 10 total touchdowns in his one and only season in Tuscaloosa.

When asked about what he will bring to the offense, Gibbs said he believes he can bring playmaking abilities to the table.

“I think they were in the top five for offenses last year,” said Gibbs. “So I think I can bring more playmaking ability and just bring another weapon to an offense that is already a machine.”

The Lions averaged 380 total offensive yards per game last season, which ranked fourth in the NFL. If Gibbs’ talents can translate to the next level, he should suite Detroit’s needs well.

Detroit missed the playoffs with a 9-8 record in 2022, but it was a huge step forward for the franchise. Just a year before the Lions were one of the worst NFL teams with a 3-13-1 record.

Gibbs should be a great weapon on an offense that is already impressive in its own right.
