The biggest story in college football right now revolves around Oklahoma quarterback Jalen Hurts.

With the entire country watching Sunday night, Hurts had a ridiculous debut throwing for 332 yards and rushing for 176 yards. He combined for six touchdowns. Now, the entire country is buzzing about his potential in Lincoln Riley’s offense. After the game, Hurts had a very Nick Saban-like postgame interview, too.

On Monday, Nick Saban was asked about Hurts’ debut, and he admitted that he didn’t watch the game because he was working.

“I didn’t see the game last night. We work on Sunday nights, but I hear he played extremely well and did an outstanding job,” Saban said of Hurts. “That doesn’t surprise me in the least bit.”

Paul Finebaum isn’t buying that Saban didn’t watch the game. He joined SportsCenter Tuesday morning to discuss Saban’s “predictable” comments.

“It’s very predictable that Nick Saban never sees anything, never hears anything. Hear no evil; see no evil,” Finebaum said. “It’s funny a couple years ago the morning of the election he was asked about it and said, ‘I didn’t realize that today was election day.’ It was only the most contested election in American history.

“I think he probably saw it. I’ve been to that facility in Tuscaloosa and there are televisions everywhere. Something tells me that the only game in the country going on was on a few televisions. I just don’t think he really wanted to admit the obvious that Jalen Hurts has continued doing extraordinarily well. Remember the backstory, Jalen was the two-year starter at Alabama and took Alabama to the national championship game and was replaced by Tua (Tagovailoa). He lost his job last year, but he did save the day in the SEC title game. Nick Saban is always playing games. That’s why he’s Nick Saban.”

Everyone is salivating thinking about the potential of Alabama and Oklahoma facing each other in the College Football Playoff. There’s a lot of time and a lot of games between now and then, but the storylines would certainly be endless.
