James Burnip had an awkward fall and left the Texas A&M game Saturday during the first half.

Burnip had the fall while trying to cover a punt return and then limped to the medical tent. He later headed towards Alabama’s locker room.

Burnip has played in every game this season for the Crimson Tide so far. He had three punts with an average of 53.3 yards last game against Mississippi State. His average this season has been 48.9 yards per punt.

People don’t realize how important punters are and losing a veteran in the punting game like Burnip could do some damage. Hopefully his injury isn’t too bad, and he could get back in the game to help the Crimson Tide flip the field.

Burnip played in 13 games for Alabama last season with an average of 42.3 yards per punt. Alabama and Texas A&M are currently facing off on CBS.

Stay tuned for more updates on Burnip’s status.
