Jaylen Waddle’s ankle injury sent shockwaves throughout the college football and sports world. The dynamic wide receiver was on pace for a historic season, but it was cut short early in Alabama’s game against Tennessee on Saturday.

On Sunday, Waddle took to Instagram to post photos of him in the back of an ambulance, using the hashtag #RydeOuts, the nickname for the Crimson Tide’s wide receiving corps.

While Waddle’s season is over, it gives plenty of players in the photo a chance to step in and fill the void. And regardless which team you root for, having a young man have his season cut short by such an awful injury is disappointing.

Best wishes to Waddle and his continued recovery, and here’s hoping that this is only a temporary setback to what should be an impressive football career.
