Clemson put up an incredible 73 points on Saturday in a 73-7 victory over a completely overmatched Georgia Tech team.

But, arguably the best offensive performance of the day came in Tuscaloosa, where Alabama put up 41 points on Georgia’s elite defense in a 41-24 victory over the Bulldogs.

Two things can be true. One, Georgia has one of the best defenses in the country. Two, it was completely overmatched by Alabama’s offense.

Indeed, on ESPN’s “College Football Final” on Saturday night, analyst Joey Galloway explained why Alabama’s offense is the best in the country (via 247Sports):

“This is the best offense in the country,” Galloway said. “I know Clemson is good. Trevor Lawrence is going No. 1 in the NFL Draft. But with the weapons that Alabama has in the backfield and out wide and the way that Mac Jones is playing, this is definitely the most explosive offense in the country right now. You have to pick your poison. You can’t stop this offense. There’s too many weapons.”

Will Alabama and Clemson continue to light up scoreboards until a potential College Football Playoff showdown settles things?

We’ll find out over the next few months as the strange, wonderful 2020 season continues to move along!
