Keon Sabb isn’t going anywhere for the 2025 season. The Alabama safety recently took to social media, saying that he was returning to Alabama to chase a national title.

That’s something the Crimson Tide did not get a chance to compete for as far as the 2024 season was concerned, left just on the outside looking in of the College Football Playoff. Sabb said in his announcement that he felt there was more left for him still in Tuscaloosa and that he is ready to “run it back” in 2025.

“This season ended early for me and it did not finish the way any of us wanted. I have a lot left to help this team accomplish, and I look forward to leading the 2025 group,” he said. “I cannot wait to get back on the field and start working towards our ultimate goal of winning a national championship.”

The 2024 campaign marked Sabb’s first season of his career with Alabama. He closed the year out with 39 tackles, 2 interceptions, and 4 pass deflections over 7 games. He was not at full capacity for the entirety of the season, suffering a left leg injury on Oct. 19 against the Tennessee Volunteers. Head coach Kalen DeBoer announced he was done for the year in mid-November.

At the time, though, DeBoer stated that Alabama expected Sabb to be ready to roll” for the 2025 season.

“He’s just a guy that really has grown relationships with the team, and we want him around here,” DeBoer said then. “He’s one of those guys, like the others that are done for the year too, that care so much about this team and we care about him.”

Sabb appeared in 18 games with 4 starts across his 2 seasons at Michigan before transferring to Alabama. He was part of the Wolverines’ national championship-winning team in 2023.
