Montana Fouts injury update: Alabama updates Fouts’ status for Super Regional
Montana Fouts will be available to pitch this weekend in Alabama’s Super Regional matchup against Northwestern.
Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy announced that news at a press conference on Thursday afternoon. However, Murphy did not say whether or not Fouts would start in Game 1 of the Super Regional on Friday.
Alabama softball ace pitcher Montana Fouts, who missed the regional tourney last weekend with a knee injury, is available to pitch vs. Northwestern in super regional. UA coach Patrick Murphy not revealing his pitching plan, however. Says Fouts has continued to improve in rehab.

Fouts has been dealing with a left knee injury and has missed Alabama’s last 5 games.
Murphy told reporters that Fouts has been able to throw in recent days and is expected to throw a bullpen session on Thursday.
Her return to Alabama’s pitching staff is huge news for the Crimson Tide. Fouts posted a team-best 1.44 ERA this season and is one of the most experienced pitchers in the country.
Fouts’ Women’s College World Series experience includes pitching a perfect game against UCLA in 2021. She also led Alabama to a deep run in the 2019 Women’s College World Series.
With Fouts unavailable for Alabama’s regional victory last weekend, the Tide turned to Jaala Torrence. She threw 18.2 scoreless innings across multiple games last weekend.
Game 1 of the Tuscaloosa Super Regional is set for 9:00 p.m. ET on Friday. The game will be broadcast on ESPN 2.
