One of the first major injuries suffered by the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2019 was senior LB Josh McMillon, who suffered a season-ending knee injury.
The senior’s career was expected to come to an end, as he was a redshirt senior defender on the Crimson Tide roster.
However, on Wednesday, coach Nick Saban said the Tide would petition the NCAA for a medical redshirt for McMillon:
Alabama will petition for a medical redshirt for redshirt senior inside linebacker Josh McMillon, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in August.
"We'd love to have him," Saban said of McMillon's status for next year.

Will McMillon be given a sixth year of eligibility? There doesn’t seem to be any sort of rhyme or reason to the NCAA’s decision making these days, so we’ll have to see.
He would be the sort of experienced veteran that the Tide could use in the linebacking corps next year, though.
