The Alabama Crimson Tide have an intense battle going at the quarterback position, with Tua Tagovailoa and Jalen Hurts fighting for the starting job.

However, the Tide also have a battle going on at the kicker position, where redshirt freshman Joseph Bulovas and Temple transfer Austin Jones are duking it out for the top spot.

Recently coach Nick Saban provided an update about the battle, saying he thinks there will be a role for both kickers this fall (via AL.com):

“We’ve got really good competition in the kicking game, which I think is very good,” Saban said. “Both guys have done very, very well. It’s a very close competition. I think the combination of those two guys can be very effective for us in some way, shape or form. We haven’t decided that yet.”

Both players are trying to replace former K Andy Pappanastos, who made all 56 of his extra points in 2017 and 18 of his 25 field goals.

Consistency will be important for Saban and the Tide, so it’ll be worth watching who has the best performance moving forward.
