Look, if you still need me to convince you that FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd doesn’t know anything about college football, I don’t know what to tell you.

A few months ago, he asked Urban Meyer why he didn’t recruit Joe Burrow to Ohio State (he did, and Burrow played there for a couple of seasons). Then, he said he didn’t like Vince Young coming out of college because he reminded him of Tim Tebow (Tebow was still in high school when Young was drafted).

Today, Cowherd said he remembered when Alex Smith’s Utah team beat Nick Saban at Alabama. The problem? That never happened. You can see the clip below:

Alabama did lose to Utah in the Sugar Bowl following the 2008 season, but Smith was finishing up his fourth season in the NFL at that point. Coincidentally, he missed that entire year for the San Francisco 49ers with an injury.

Brian Johnson was the QB who led the Utes to the Sugar Bowl win. And, by that point, Meyer was at Florida, not at Utah, like Cowherd claimed.

Maybe Cowherd should leave the college football talk to people who actually know the sport.
