Reuben Foster’s debut in Washington may be delayed for a significant period of time as the former Alabama and San Francisco linebacker has suffered an injury at his first OTA with the Redskins.

Based on the reactions from those in attendance, the injury may be a significant one as Foster was reportedly in tears after going down and had to be carted off the field.

“#Redskins LB Reuben Foster carted off just now. Left leg injury. Sobbing as he was driven back to the team facility,” Mike Garafolo of NFL Media tweeted out this morning.

That account was backed up by John Keim of ESPN.

“Reuben Foster down. Just carted off. Was in tears. Looked at by trainers. Left leg. Bruce Allen And Jay Gruden over with them,” Keim tweeted.

Washington picked Foster up on waivers late last season after he was released by San Francisco. The 49ers cut Foster following his latest run-in with the law, which came following suspicion of domestic violence. Foster was allowed to sign with the Redskins but was placed on the NFL’s exempt list.

Foster was taken in the first round by the 49ers of the 2017 NFL Draft after being sent home early from the NFL Combine.
