Nick Saban recently extended an olive branch to Scooby Carter and the talented Alabama defensive back wisely has decided to grab hold of the continued opportunity the freshman has in front of him in Tuscaloosa.

Carter has had an interesting few weeks as one of Alabama’s top defensive signees in the 2019 recruiting cycle has been exploring his options in the transfer portal following the end of the Tide’s regular season.

Leading up to his team’s appearance in the Citrus Bowl, Saban was asked about Carter’s status at Alabama and arguably the greatest defensive back coach in the history of college football said he would welcome the Texas native back in Tuscaloosa.

“Scooby can have another opportunity to be on the team, and if he wants to start with the team next semester in school, we’ll give him another opportunity at that time — if he did okay in school,” Saban said. “We are trying to be supportive and help him to do the things that he needs to do to have a chance to be successful as a person, as a student-athlete and as a player. We will give him an opportunity to come back next semester if he wants to do that.”

Turns out Carter wants that chance.

Following’s Alabama’s Citrus Bowl win over Michigan, the freshman defensive back posted this message on Twitter:

Sounds like Carter is locked in and ready to compete in Tuscaloosa with spring football just around the corner.
