We see this equation play out seemingly every week: Tua Tagovailoa plus Alabama’s speedy wide receivers equals too much for defenses.

On Alabama’s first possession, it took only 1:10 for the Crimson Tide to register a 90-yard touchdown drive. As we’re used to seeing, the scoring featured a long passing play. This time it was DeVonta Smith, going 74 yards for the score.

Smith’s position (and speed) made it where the Rebels defense was out of frame during part of his sprint to the end zone.

These touchdowns have become almost routine during the Tagovailoa, but the junior signal-caller should remember this one. It ties him with AJ McCarron for the school record of 80 career touchdowns.
