Tua Tagovailoa weighs in on Alabama WRs using Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine routes
A story broke this week about Alabama’s receivers — led by Jerry Jeudy, DeVonta Smith, Henry Ruggs III and Jaylen Waddle — sometimes playing games of Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine who the primary receiver on certain plays is.
Coach Nick Saban said he’d never heard of them doing that, and QB Tua Tagovailoa also played coy about it on Wednesday night.
Appearing on “Marty & McGee” on the SEC Network, Tagovailoa said just because a receiver wins a game pre-snap, it doesn’t mean he’s going to throw them the ball:
“If he’s not open, I’m not gonna throw it.”

That’s probably a good strategy for Tagovailoa, who seems to be making plenty of smart decisions these days.
Of course, having a receiving corps as talented as Alabama’s helps, too.
