Once the latest SEC schedule was released, it was already known to be a gauntlet, but the new preseason AP poll has confirmed Arkansas’ outlook.

The Paul Finebaum Show put together a list of the most regular season games against top-15 opponents since the poll debuted, and Arkansas has six games, which ties the Razorbacks with last year’s Auburn team, and several other teams from decades before.

As is the case with several teams in the SEC West, the annual schedule these days comes close to this almost every year. This year, for example, four of these teams are division opponents. It’s that Arkansas added Georgia and Florida that put it over the top.

“Like we told our kids that schedule gives us an opportunity to go do something that nobody would ever have the chance to do ever,” first-year coach Sam Pittman told Pig Trail Nation. “Because I believe this is the hardest schedule in the history of football.

“It gives us an opportunity to go upset some people and make a name for our program. We’re looking at it as a positive because that’s the only way you can do it. We drew the two premier teams in the East and that gives you that opportunity. But yeah it hits you right square in the jaw.”
