Credit Hunter Yurachek for sticking up for Jalen Catalon and the Arkansas football team.

If you somehow missed it, the Razorbacks’ best defensive back was called for targeting against LSU on Saturday during the Tigers’ game-winning drive.

The play was reviewed and the officials on the field confirmed the original call. LSU went on to score a touchdown on the drive and won the game by a score of 27-24.

Because the hit occurred in the fourth quarter, not only was Catalon ejected from the game, he is currently slated to be suspended for the first half of the upcoming Missouri game next weekend.

That may be the case at the moment but Yurachek said after the game he will fight to change the suspension.

“I cannot change the outcome or any of the other missed calls, but I will work with the appropriate SEC Officials to make sure that this ‘targeting’ call does not cost Jalen Catalon our next game. My student-athletes deserve better,” Yuracheck tweeted after the game.

It’s pretty rare to see an administrator call out the officials after a game but this comment is on a whole other level from the Arkansas AD.
