Judgment expert compares Lane Kiffin to 'a higher grade version of Bobby Petrino'
As Tennessee’s coaching search continues to dominate headlines, Arkansas is also quietly conducting a search for both a coach and an athletic director.
While many speculate that the Razorbacks are waiting on Auburn coach Gus Malzahn to make a decision, that has yet to be confirmed.
On “The Paul Finebaum Show” on Wednesday, P3 Insights judgment expert Ken Smithmier joined the show to discuss some top candidates for current openings. Interestingly, he said he thinks FAU coach Lane Kiffin would be a great fit for the Hogs, comparing him to Bobby Petrino:
"If I was Arkansas & could get @Lane_Kiffin to Fayetteville, I think he's a higher grade version of Bobby Petrino & look what Petrino did there" – @kensmithmier pic.twitter.com/JobhbzWi6i

Obviously, Petrino didn’t have the most graceful exit from Arkansas, though that had more to do with off-the-field incidents than the way the team was playing.
Could Kiffin come in and have a similar level of success? That remains to be seen, but the Razorbacks may need to act quickly, as Kiffin’s name is being brought up more often these days in Knoxville.
