Arkansas now has another scholarship to potentially work with in the 2019 recruiting cycle as one of the program’s longtime commits will not end up playing for the Razorbacks.

Multiple outlets are reporting that Texas defensive back Myles Brooks is no longer committed to Arkansas and his social media account suggests he is headed to Stephen F. Austin to play college football. Brooks initially committed to the Razorbacks in July of 2018. The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Brooks is rated as a three-star prospect and the nation’s No. 54 safety prospect by 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Brooks joins Georgia defensive lineman Dante Walker as prospects that were committed to the Razorbacks entering the week but no longer remain committed to the program. It was just a week ago that four-star Texas safety Jalen Catalon committed to Arkansas over Texas, which may have taken up the spot originally reserved for Brooks in Fayetteville.

This leaves Arkansas with five commitments for the 2019 recruiting cycle, in addition to the 21 prospects that signed during the early signing period in December.
