Report: RB Rawleigh Williams III to meet with Arkansas coaches and doctors

Arkansas RB Rawleigh Williams III, who finished third in the SEC in rushing in 2016, suffered a scary-looking injury during the Razorbacks’ spring game on Saturday, causing him to be carted off the field.
For a back who has already had neck surgery in his young collegiate career, the injury was especially bad, and it was reported that Williams had suffered a “neurological event” on the play, according to WholeHogSports.com.
The report goes on to state that Williams and his family will meet with Arkansas coaches and doctors this week to talk about his future with the team.
Obviously, Williams’ long-term health is the most important thing for all those involved, but the news doesn’t sound good for the star running back.
If he is unable to play this year and beyond, the SEC will be without one of its best players this fall.
An announcement on Williams’ status is expected to be made sometime next week.
