Arkansas took a major blow on Saturday as tight end Luke Hasz suffered a broken clavicle that will likely sideline him for the remainder of the season.

Hasz has recorded 253 yards and 3 touchdowns on the season and was emerging as one of the top offensive weapons for the Razorbacks.

Now, Arkansas will have to find a replacement for Hasz as he works his way back from the injury. But Pittman feels confident even after such a tough break, and he is comfortable with all of the options Arkansas can go to at tight end.

“You know, sometimes opportunity, we find out more about a guy than obviously if he’s standing over on the sidelines,” Pittman said during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “I’m very comfortable with the tight ends that we have. Will we change some? We might because we always do a little bit just trying to attack the defense that we’re getting ready to play. Very comfortable with how it’s gone the first 2 days. After we’ve looked at all the tape and all those type things, and then we’ll have a plan on how to do it. That competition at least for that game will be over throughout the week’s work and then go from there.”

It will be a tough first game for whoever ends up being the starting tight end for Arkansas as the Razorbacks take on Ole Miss, who is riding the wave of a huge win over LSU last week.

A signature win for Arkansas would be huge in regaining control of its season after losing 3 straight, but a loss would be just another blow in a tough stretch of games.
