Auburn’s new football-only facility has officially been approved.

The Board of Trustees voted in favor Friday, per Josh Vitale of the Montgomery Advertiser. The facility comes with an estimated price stage of $91.9 million.

The Football Performance Center is set to house Auburn’s football operations building, a new indoor practice facility, two natural turf practice fields, weight room, players’ locker room, players’ lounge, barbershop, two recording studios, and even a flight simulator.

The facility was planned well ahead of Bryan Harsin’s arrival on The Plains, but it certainly helped sell the head coach on leaving Boise State for Auburn. It is projected to be completed by July of 2022, ahead of Harsin’s second season while the coach assembles his third recruiting class.

Auburn was one of the last SEC programs to not have a football-only facility. Football operations have been based out of a multipurpose facility opened in 1989.
