Auburn’s 2019 recruiting class just took its second big hit in as many days as Mississippi defensive end Charles Moore has apparently signed with Jones County Community College.

The 6-foot-4, 268-pound Moore is rated as a four-star defensive end, the No. 69 overall prospect, the No. 6 strongside defensive end in the country and Mississippi’s No. 4 recruit by 247Sports Composite Rankings. A longtime Mississippi State commit, Moore committed to Auburn on National Signing Day over MSU, LSU and Florida.

However, Thursday morning, Jones County announced they had signed Moore to its 2019 recruiting class. This news comes after Auburn lost out on longtime five-star commit George Pickens to Georgia.

Moore was an Under Armour All-American selection following the conclusion of his high school career at Louisville High School in Louisville, Mississippi. He also participated in the 2019 Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game.

Auburn’s 2019 recruiting class now drops a spot to No. 12 nationally and No. 7 in the Southeastern Conference following this news. The Tigers managed to land 20 prospects, 13 of which ranked as either five-star or four-star prospects.
