Auburn pitcher Casey Mize was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 MLB Draft, and it hasn’t taken him long to make his presence felt in the Detroit Tigers’ organization.
On Monday night, he made his double-A debut for the Erie Seawolves, and boy, was it a debut for the ages.
Mize threw all nine innings and managed to hold the Altoona Curve to zero hits while striking out seven and only walking one:
HE DID IT. NO-HITTER.
First minor league career complete-game and NO-HITTER for #Tigers Casey Mize and the first overall for Mize since his no-no for @AuburnBaseball on May 9. #WarEagle
One word to describe his AA debut — ? sensational ?:

Based on this performance, it’s safe to say he’s faring well at the double-A level so far. We’ll see how long the Tigers want to keep him in Erie, but he could be at triple-A before this season is over.
