Former Auburn DL Montravius Adams is a guy the Green Bay Packers are counting on to take a step forward this season.

In fact, DC Mike Pettine specifically commented on Adams and how much the team will need him to improve this fall.

“Step up,” Pettine said twice when asked about Adams during a press conference (via AL.com).

However, this week, Adams suffered an offseason setback, as he was arrested for marijuana possession and a pair of other violations.

The Packers have issued a statement on Adams’ arrest, but didn’t elaborate much as Adams has an ongoing legal situation (via JSOnline.com):

“The Packers are aware of the matter involving Montravius Adams,” a team spokesperson said in a statement issued to PackersNews. “We will refrain from making any further comment as it is an ongoing legal matter.”

Whether or not Adams is suspended to start the season remains to be seen.
