Auburn may be playing at home this weekend but the Tigers are going to need to be as close to full strength as possible if they hope to upset a Texas A&M team just on the outside of the Playoff top four heading into the weekend after winning five games in a row.

During his Tuesday morning press conference, Gus Malzahn was asked to share the latest injury update on The Plains.

Auburn’s offense just hasn’t been the same this season without a healthy Tank Bigsby on the field as the SEC’s best freshman running backs has been a revelation for the Tigers.

In addition to the talented Auburn running back being banged up, Malzahn noted that offensive lineman Brodarious Hamm and defensive back Jaylin Simpson are all limited heading into the Texas A&M game.

Adding to the team’s injury woes, starting offensive lineman Alec Jackson recently had surgery and won’t play this weekend.

“Brodarious and Tank will be similar to last week. Alec Jackson had surgery on his hand yesterday, so he will be out,” Malzahn shared. “We’ll see about the other two, along with Jaylin Simpson, he wasn’t able to play last week. We’ll see how they progress during the week.”

Lastly, on the injury front, Malzahn noted that running back DJ Williams is working his way back but the Auburn runner has had a rough season when it comes to nagging issues.

“DJ, I should have put him in that list. He had an ankle injury, so we’ll see how he is this week, too,” Malzahn added. “It’s been a tough year for him. I don’t know if he’s been healthy any game so far. Hopefully we get him back.”
