In 2019, Auburn coach Gus Malzahn took over as the Tigers’ play caller once again, leading to some mixed results.
Entering 2020, the Tigers have hired former Arkansas head coach Chad Morris as their offensive coordinator, but it remained to be seen if he’d be given the reins of the Auburn offense.
On Tuesday afternoon, Malzahn confirmed that Morris would indeed have full control of the offense and would be the Tigers’ play caller:
Auburn HC Gus Malzahn just said here in Mobile that new OC Chad Morris will have full control of the offense in 2020 and will call plays.

We’ll see how this development affects rising sophomore QB Bo Nix, who will now be in a second offensive system in 2 years at Auburn.
Morris has a track record of success as a coordinator, though, dating back to his time at Clemson.
