Jalen McLeod, an outside linebacker transfer from Appalachian State, has announced a commitment to play in the SEC.

McLeod committed to Auburn, and has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.

In 3 seasons with the Mountaineers, McLeod made 76 tackles, including 12.5 tackles for loss and 9 sacks. Last season, he made a career-high 41 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss and 6 sacks. He also forced 2 fumbles and recovered 1.

McLeod, in a memorable game at Texas A&M last season in which the Mountaineers knocked off the Aggies, made 3 tackles, 2 sacks and forced 2 fumbles during the upset on Sept. 10.

McLeod will be in the middle of a re-tooled outside linebacker group after Dylan Brooks departed to the transfer portal. McLeod will play with Vanderbilt transfer Elijah McAllister, along with freshmen Keldric Faulk and Brenton Williams.

McLeod was a 3-star recruit in the Class of 2020 out of Washington, D.C. (Friendship Collegiate Academy) He was rated by the 247Sports Composite as the 68th-best outside linebacker in his cycle.
