Jyaire Shorter, a 6-foot-2 and 218-pound wide receiver from North Texas, has committed to play in the SEC.

Shorter, who committed to Auburn, played in 13 games with 11 starts, and made 23 receptions for 628 yards and 11 touchdowns as he scored at least one touchdown in 8 games. Shorter tied for 7th in the country with 11 touchdowns and led the country in yards per reception (27.2).

Shorter was an honorable mention All-Conference USA selection and was a Comeback Player of the Year semifinalist after he played in just 2 games in 2021.

Shorter is the second transfer wide receiver to commit to Auburn recently in the second transfer portal window, after former Ohio State receiver Caleb Burton.

Shorter’s 2021 and 2020 seasons each ended with injury, but in 2019, he caught 24 passes for 473 yards, an average of 39.4 yards per game, with 9 touchdowns while appearing in all 12 games with 10 starts. He redshirted in 2018.

A 3-star prospect out of Killeen, Texas (Ellison), Shorter coming out of high school had offers from the likes of Bowling Green, Houston, Lamar, Liberty, Louisiana-Lafayette, New Mexico, Texas State and UT San Antonio.
