It has been a tumultuous offseason in Auburn so far, and ahead of Friday’s Music City Bowl matchup against Purdue, many wondered if the Tigers would show up ready to play.
Indeed, they did, as they rolled to an early 21-0 lead thanks to some big plays and aggressive play-calling by head coach Gus Malzahn. Before the halftime whistle even sounded, it was 49-7 in favor of the Tigers.
That has inspired a lot of hope in Auburn fans, even if it was just 30 minutes of football so far. Tiger fans (and media members) flocked to Twitter to react to the incredible first half of action by the Auburn offense.
Below, you can see some of the best tweets about the explosive first two quarters by QB Jarrett Stidham, RB Boobee Whitlow and others:

Guess there is only one conclusion to draw from this #MusicCityBowl, all of #Auburn’s problems were Chip Lindsey’s fault and now that he’s gone, Gus Malzahn is once again an offensive genius!

I’m not sure how, but Gus Malzahn’s buyout just went up to $142 million with this Purdue score…
