This past weekend, the last few FBS spring games were held by Washington, UCF and UCLA. Now that spring practice is in the books around the FBS, we inch closer to the 2026 college football season.
On Monday, Joel Klatt revealed his post-spring top 25. The FOX broadcaster includes 9 teams from SEC, with 4 of those making the top 10. The Big Ten also has 4 in the top 10, including 3 in the top 4. Notre Dame and Miami are Klatt’s only non-SEC/B1G selections for the top 10.
Georgia leads the way for the SEC at No. 5. Behind Miami, Klatt has Texas, LSU and Texas A&M taking Nos. 7-9.
Outside the top 10, Klatt has a trio of SEC teams that made the Playoff last year: Oklahoma (No. 11), Ole Miss (No. 14) and Alabama (No. 16).
One of Klatt’s more notable SEC inclusions is South Carolina at No. 24. The Gamecocks went 4-8 in 2025, leading Shane Beamer to make a change at offensive coordinator with Kendal Briles joining for the 2026 campaign. Tennessee checks in at No. 25.
