We all know that Auburn DL Derrick Brown is going to be a first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft — likely even a top-10 pick.

However, could another Auburn defensive lineman also hear his name called during Round 1 on Thursday night?

During an ESPN draft special on Monday, analyst Mel Kiper Jr. explained why he thinks Davidson’s stock is on the rise.

“You look at a guy who played beside Derrick Brown along that same Auburn defensive front,” Kiper said. “Derrick Brown’s gonna go high, top-7 overall. Marlon Davidson is a kid — 6-3 1/2, 303 (pounds), 4-year starter — you don’t see that much in college football. Four years he was doing the job along Auburn’s defensive line. This year, he had a career-high 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks. Team captain. A guy who I think gives you some scheme versatility. You can get him in the late first round. … I think he’s ahead of A.J. Epenesa of Iowa, Yetur Gross-Matos of Penn State.”

Most mocks have Davidson going in Round 2, but it is possible he could go on Thursday night in the first round.

Will any team decide to take him in the first 32 picks? Kiper thinks it’s possible, but it is also possible he has to wait until Friday to hear his name called.
