One of Auburn’s offensive position coaches has apparently been shown the door just 4 games into the 2021 season.

According to AuburnLive, wide receivers coach Cornelius Williams has been fired. Offensive analyst Eric Kiesau will reportedly take the place of Williams.

Prior to his arrival at Auburn as part of Bryan Harsin’s initial staff, Williams held the same position at Troy, his alma mater. There, 14 of his receivers were named to the All-Sun Belt team. He had stints at Murray State, North Alabama, Jacksonville State and UAB prior to that.

Kiesau has coached alongside Harsin over the past several years, serving under him as wide receivers coach at Boise State in 2017 and 2018. In 2019, while coaching WRs, he was promoted to co-offensive coordinator before taking over the role fully in 2020.

Auburn travels to Baton Rouge to face LSU on Oct. 2. Kickoff is at 9 p.m. ET on ESPN.
