After UCF won the American Athletic Conference title game, news broke that coach Scott Frost had accepted the Nebraska job and would be heading to Lincoln for the 2018 season.

However, he and his staff will stay at UCF through the Peach Bowl, trying to leave the school with one more big win to finish off an undefeated season.

As the Knights prepare, Frost is also trying to recruit for Nebraska, so some have questioned his commitment to UCF. On Tuesday, though, he said the Knights are ahead of Auburn in terms of bowl prep (via 247Sports):

“Auburn hasn’t really practiced for this game until Saturday, we practiced Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with almost an entire staff,” Frost said. “A lot of that stuff is not out there. I understand some of the frustration. I can promise you our staff is dialed in.

“We are ahead of our opponent.”

He knows that it is difficult for him to juggle the Nebraska job with bowl preparations, but said he’s doing everything he can to give the Knights a chance to win on New Year’s Day:

“It’s hard, I know the meaning of wearing two hats now and they are both full-time jobs, but we are doing absolutely everything we can to give these guys the best chance they have,” Frost said.

Whatever happens between now and then, the Peach Bowl should be one of the more-exciting bowl matchups of the season, as UCF’s high-powered offense will take on Auburn’s elite defense.

The game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time on New Year’s Day and can be seen on ESPN.
